More on Hospitals Handling of Early Infant Death

Last month we posted an article about how two hospitals handle early infant death in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Earlier this week, Tampa Bay Online published two articles about a bereavement program, Cherished Moments, at Brandon Regional Hospital in Florida. One article discusses the program, which includes photographing the baby, and creating a box for mementos. The other article profiles the nurse, Laurie Van Damme, who began the program.

Thanks for commenting on our Cherished Memories Perinatal Bereavement Program at Brandon Regional Hospital. I believe that the one thing that makes this program especially unique is not only do Laurie and the staff take 30-40+ photos of the family interacting with the baby, but then those photos are presenting to the family as a remembrance DVD set to beautiful music of the memories that they shared with their baby.
