- The Jefferson Awards, honoring contributions through public and community service , announced its 2008 winners, including the founder of a hospice in rural Mississippi.
- The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving is now taking nominations until August 15 for its 2008 Leadership in Caregiving Award.
- Judy Bachrach, journalist and contributing editor at Vanity Fair, had launched a new website on online advice column on dying well
- The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), an independent Congressional agency, has released its June 2008 Report to Congress. There is a lot of information about the Medicare hospice benefit in the report. HFA will share highlights in a future post.
