Hospice Foundation of America developed a series of articles that were published in six major daily newspapers as part of a public education series focusing on issues of physician education and communication. Read articles such as "Can We Humanize Our Medical System", "There are Limits to Medical Technology", and "Will Your Doctor Do What You Want?" Please feel free to contact HFA for permission to reprint these articles. ----------------------------------------------------- As part of its commitment to professional education, HFA has undertaken The Hospice Medicaid Education Project, a one-year demonstration project funded by the 2000 session of the Florida Legislature and administered for the Florida Department of Health. The goal of the project is to expand the utilization of hospice among Medicaid patients with a life-limiting illness in order to enhance the last weeks of their lives. The project is conducted in partnership with Florida Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., and the Health Council of South Florida, and is part of the Florida Partnership for End of Life Care of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Community-State Partnerships in End of Life Care.
