Hospice Foundation of America E-Newsletter - August 2002Hospice Foundation of America E-Newsletter ------------------------------------------------------------ We usually take a hiatus with this e-newsletter during August, but wanted to give you some brief updates on the teleconference. Please watch your e-mailbox for the September issue, which will arrive on Wednesday, September 11. In light of the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the U.S., we'll be featuring interviews with journalist Cokie Roberts and other professionals on their perspectives of that tragedy and the year since. ------------------------------------------------------------ HFA's 10th Annual National Bereavement Teleconference will focus on "Living With Grief: Coping With Public Tragedy." The live-via-satellite program, moderated by Cokie Roberts, will be broadcast Wednesday, April 30 from 1:30pm to 4:00pm EDT. The teleconference will examine the factors that define a public tragedy and offer insight and advice to organizations and professionals as they support their communities and help those coping with loss. We're pleased that these professionals have agreed to serve as panelists for the program: Kenneth Doka, PhD, MDiv The teleconference is seen each year by more than 100,000 people in over 2,000 communities in the U.S. and Canada. If you work with other organizations at the local or national level who would be interested in this year's topic, please pass along information about the teleconference to them. If you belong to any professional associations whose members would benefit from knowing about the program, please contact us at telecon@hospicefoundation.org and we would be happy to share information with them. Registration for organizations hosting the teleconference will begin in late September; more information and an online registration form will be available at that time. Please watch the Site Coordinator's Corner of this e-newsletter for updates.
