Message from David
Abrams, President/CEO
On March 22, HFA will broadcast its
fourteenth annual National Bereavement Teleconference, Living With
Grief®:
Before and After the Death. The
program has come to be recognized as the leading training program on
hospice and bereavement in the country, having reached over three
quarters of a million professionals in communities across the US and
Canada.
The impact of Living With Grief has
been recognized internationally. This year it will be webcast in
Australia, and we are very proud at HFA to have a downlink site in Iraq,
at the 3rd Signal Brigade. Thank you to Brigade Chaplain Thomas Condry.
We thank everyone who has participated
in the past and those who plan to join us this year. We invite you to
think of ways to spread the word about the program and encourage
participation in your community. If you haven’t already done so, you can
locate a site near
you at our
online site map.
Please be sure to contact the Site
Coordinator listed to find out specifics about the program and CEU
requirements at that particular site.

Teleconference, Living With Grief®:
Before and After the Death,
will be broadcast live Thursday, March 22, from 1:30--4:00pm EDT. This

Focus on: HFA Sponsors and Partners
Hospice Foundation of America is
grateful to the following organizations that have offered their support
and participation in this year's teleconference.
The teleconference is sponsored in part
from a grant from:
The Foundation for End of Life
Care
The Foundation for End-of-Life Care, a not-for-profit organization
established by VITAS Healthcare Corporation, was created to improve
end-of-life care for individual patients and their families, while
supporting fundamental societal change.
The New Jersey Funeral Service Education Corporation
The NJSFDA is committed to building strong relationships with caring
professionals throughout the state. The affiliate education foundation,
The New Jersey Funeral Service Education Corp., (NJFSEC) is a major
sponsor of the Hospice Foundation of America's 2007 National Bereavement
Teleconference. Through this and other outreach efforts, the NJFSEC is
seeking to promote the ideals of Knowledge Based Funeral Service, which
presumes that there is great value to be found in the relationships
funeral directors have with those in other professions.
In addition, HFA produces the
teleconference in cooperation with:
The
Adventist Communications Network, the satellite media
distribution service for the North American Division of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church. If you need to locate a satellite facility in your
area to host the teleconference, call the Adventist Communication
Network: they will help you contact your local Seventh Day Adventist
Church (1-800-226-1119), which makes its facilities available at no
charge.
The
Association for Death Education and Counseling
The Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) is one of the
oldest interdisciplinary organizations in the field of dying, death and
bereavement. Its nearly 2,000 members include a wide array of mental and

Friends

grief-related materials, and answers requests for referrals and
information.
