Welcome CFC Campaign Participants!

Whether hospice has touched your life in one of these powerful ways or you simply want to support all that hospice provides, now and for the future, you know hospice delivers comprehensive, team-based care to the dying. What you may not know is how few people understand that hospice promises what no other medical care can – a dignified death free from pain and machines. Care that lets people live life to the fullest even in the face of terminal illness.

This year, Hospice Foundation of America will embark on a major educational campaign to bring information about hospice to public. We want all Americans to know what recent medical research shows -- that hospice care is not only compassionate care; it is restorative care that can add not only quality to life but also precious time. Although the goal of hospice is not to extend life but to give quality, researchers now confirm that hospice care can add days or even weeks to a person’s life.*

Whether it is clearing up misunderstandings about hospice care, or simply giving people the facts they need to enter a hospice program, we will continue to help those in need with your support. We will continue our Children’s Grief Grant Program, which funds bereavement programs and camps for kids throughout the United States and maintain our support for hospice care in areas ravaged by natural and man-made disasters. And this year, we will launch a new grant program, a Veterans Hospice Grant Program, funding hospices that are making special efforts to care for veterans and their families. While educating the public, we will also train healthcare professionals in the latest advances in end-of-life care. Our mission, however, remains what it has long been: to be there for anyone who needs end-of-life care or help with grief during this monumental life transition that leaves none of us untouched.

Please help us continue our work on behalf of dying Americans. For three decades, we have been working on behalf of the dying, their families, and their friends and the amazing professionals who serve them. Like you, we will never stop caring.
