Info: "The face created by Hayley Bermel, is a red heart, representing all the love she feels for her Dad. The blue around the heart represents the loneliness of missing her Dad.

"The Center, holds an after school group, called Helping Hands, Healing Hearts. It is a 6 week grief group for children ages 5 to 12 that have experienced a death in their family and it is offered at Hospice of Central New York twice a year. During each group session there is an opportunity for children to express their emotions through art. In a recent session, the children were giver pieces of cardboard, clay and Playdoh-like material, and were asked to create a Grief Mask or a face that shows a feeling or some of the feelings they have experienced with grief. These images are visual representation of grief are provided by four of the children who are currently attending our group."
